It was a real adventure experience! The team started to hike from the north side of the most active volcano in the world, the Merapi Volcano 2965 ASL. The weather was good, many stars on the sky and a little bit wins blow the cool to our skin. The hiking was really hard, even though Merapi has the shortest climbing track for Java Volcanoes. But our 4 hours pain get paid by the beautiful sunrise as we get on the top of Merapi Volcano!

Trekking to The magnificent Merapi South Slope Sunrise

Merapi volcano gives natural beautiful from many sides. It gives splendid atmosphere to the people who eager to join the south slope trekking. Located on the north side of Jogjakarta, around 900 ASL  to 1200 ASL, the trekking route will give the travelers best scenic views, with the sun rises from the back slope of the most active volcano. 

The walk to the paradise sunrise starts around 4.00 am from the historical place called Vogel Homestay. All the activity begin with the explanation from Mr. Christian Awuy, the pioneer of Merapi volcano climbing. At the same time, you can enjoy a coffee break and simple luxury breakfast .

After enjoying the magnificent sunrise, the trekking guide will take the fellow travelers to visit the remaining burned jungle from the last Merapi eruption on 2010. The trekking will end as the guide take you to back to the Vogel Homestay.
